While most spring sports are now reaching the later part of the season, volleyball is already winding down. Boys’ volleyball looks to close out strong as they got off to such a fast start and hit a speed bump in the season.
The boys volleyball team started off strong as they looked to take the next step from previous years. As they got off to a fast 5-1 start, as opposed to the typical sub 500 starts from previous years. However, the team did hit a tough three game losing streak that hurt their season. The team hopes to end with a possible 7-4 record, which would be very good for this 2016 WJ volleyball squad.
“We got off to a hot start, which we all were really excited about because 3-0 is great but we hit a lull in the middle of the season. We do look to finish strong, and a 7-4 record would be huge for us and our program,” opposite hitter sophomore Tae-Hong Ahn said.
Senior night will take place on May 3rd, 2016 against a strong Quince Orchard team. The Wildcats are hoping for a win in order to close out the season 7-4 to send out the three graduating seniors on a high note.
“Hopefully everyone comes out and supports the team Tuesday night,” senior Co-Ed volleyball player Joe Fischetti said.
