The WJ girls tennis team continued their good start to the season with a dominating 7-0 win against Rockville on Tuesday. Similar to their last match, every player won, further proving the strength of the WJ girls tennis team.
“We played a good match and we’re glad to start our season strong,” said senior co-captain Ronique Taffe.
Sophomore Sarah Bernstein played an impressive match, winning both sets 6-1. In addition, junior Sarah Andrews contributed greatly with 6-0 and 6-2 in both her singles sets. Other WJ tennis players performed well, producing similar scores.
The lady Wildcats look to continue their strong opening to the season with a match next week at Magruder. The girls have their eyes on top powerhouses and rivals Churchill (9/17) and Wootton (10/8).
“We’re looking forward to [our] rival Churchill and we’re practicing really, really hard,” said Taffe.
