Disney and Pixar woke up the kid inside all of us with the announcement of Toy Story 4 last month. Unfortunately, as with the sequel to the hit “Finding Nemo,” “Finding Dory,” Pixar made the announcement three years before the movie’s 2017 release date. It’s easy to grow anxious for these big movies to come out, but don’t worry. There are a bunch of great kids movies coming out over the next year to tide you over until Pixar’s next flagship franchise addition is complete.

The Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out of Water 3D (Feb. 6, 2015)

It’s been 10 years since the first Spongebob movie was released in 2004, but you won’t have to wait much longer to see your favorite Nickelodeon star flipping Krabby Patties on the big screen. It looks like Nickelodeon Movies plans to ditch Spongebob’s signature animation art style for this release, opting for a claymation-like aesthetic instead. Check out the trailer for Spongebob’s out of the sea adventure.

Minions (Summer 2015)

The real stars of the “Despicable Me” franchise finally get a movie all to themselves in this star studded release. The movie takes viewers back in time to show how the minions came to serve Gru. For a movie centered on giberish talking creatures, “Minions” has a surprisingly long list of celebrities, including Sandra Bullock and Michael Keaton. Here’s the trailer:

Penguins of Madagascar (November 26, 2014)

Serving as both a prequel and sequel to the Madagascar movies, this film follows Skipper and the penguin gang from shortly after birth, to after the events of the third movie in a hilarious spy thriller. You can watch the trailer here:
