Another game that involves a decent bit of micromanaging, Towns (PC) is a game where you take control of a little community of villagers who must carve out a living in an unforgiving world. And when I say unforgiving, I mean tougher than The Binding Of Isaac. This game is hard. In the earlygame, the second weakest enemy in the game can easily destroy your entire settlement. This unforgiving gameplay, and lack of tutorial, actually make for an awesome game, as every little victory that would seem almost trivial under most circumstances feels like a massive triumph over adversity. One memorable moment for me was managing to build a tree farm, so my villagers wouldn’t need to go through a monster infested sawmp to get lumber. That sounds stupid, right? Well, in my eyes, at that moment, it was like curing cancer. Also, the game forces you to challenge yourself. If you want to be able to make cool stuff like furnaces, tailors, and have acess to better and cooler building materials, then you need to delve deep underground, and brave the dangers of the dungeron, a place even more unforgivable than the world above.
