Let’s be real. March Madness is, hands down, the most exciting sporting event in the United States. (Yes, I know what the Super Bowl is). The excitement of the NCAA basketball tournament should be enough to push consideration for a football playoff of the same hype, but that’s a different story.
From a student standpoint, the amount of times I wasn’t paying attention in class because I was attempting to fill out my bracket would give my parents a heart attack. It gives us an excuse to spend three straight days a week watching sports, not doing homework and watching teams fight for the national title. Most people participate in a pool trying to win money predicting the outcomes of games, so the WJ Pitch staff felt it was only necessary to hold the first annual WJ Pitch Bracket Challenge.
