Some fans feel a sense of pride and glory rooting for their own home team. But, after last night, on national television for Monday Night Football, the Redskins have pushed even their most ardent fans away. As stated on tbd.com “Nothing will change for the Redskins – certainly not for very long – if they keep wanting to have it both ways.” They need to find out a way to rebuild their team and fast.
The 2010 season has been a roller coaster for fans. Redskins owner, Daniel Snyder, has been criticized for spending too much money for over-the-hill players, being difficult and overbearing toward his coaching staff and not being well liked by the mose energetic fans because of these reasons. This season has provided more ongoing drama than Days of Our Lives, from Donovan McNabb’s benching in the final two minutes two weeks ago, to the negative publicity of his erroneous contract renewal. Albert Haynesworth, defensive tackle, is also getting ridicule from head coach Mike Shanahan questioning his loyalty to play the game, then focusing on his fitness to be a team player. The question of loyalty expresses the fact that this team must come together as a whole to achieve something. Isn’t it time for the Redskins to just get on the field and play good football? The fans have been patiently waiting all season.
