Team Most Likely to Fall: Purdue. Although the Boilermakers have had a tremendous season, they lost their centerpeice junior point guard Robby Hummel. Imagine if Ohio State were to lose freshman phenom Evan Turner: it’s not pretty.
I expect Purdue to lose to conferce winning Siena even though they Saints are a lowly 13 seed.
Hardest Region: In the words of sportscaster Tony Reali, the midwest is a MAN region. This region holds overall number one seed Kansas, Big Ten champ Ohio State, then Maryland, Michigan State and Tennessee, teams that could easily make the elite eight. Whoever makes it out of this region deserves a national championship.
Easiest Region: The west. Number one seed Syracuse has the easiest path to the final four considering that of the top five seeds, only Butler has was their confence tournament, which isn’t saying much because they play in the lowly Horizon League. Their only real competition is two seed Kansas State who lost to Kansas three times this season. Look for Syracuse to have no trouble returning to the Final Four.
Team that is most likely to win it all that is not a number one seed: West Virginia. The Big East champs have been playing great basketball as of late with the stellar play of DeSean Butler. They also have great length, and are probably the deepest team besides Kansas and Kentucky in the tourney. If the Mountaineers can pull off the upset over Kentucky later in the tournamnet, there is a good chance they will be cutting down the nets in Indianapolis
The team that will win it all: Kansas: With the consistent play Sheron Collins and Cole Aldrich, the Jayhawks have the most amount of talent and experience of anyone in the tournament and coach Bill Self will most likely get the team back to the National Championship game.
