After a less than ideal start to the season, the WJ varsity field hockey team has an even record of 3-3, following wins against Thomas Johnson, Holy Cross, and Wootton.
Senior midfielder Cammie Busser shared her thoughts on how the game against Whitman went.
“It was a really evenly matched game.” Busser said, “Neither team was dominant and we each got to possess the ball a lot. They quickly scored at the beginning of the game and we tied it up soon after, but in the end they put another one in and we didn’t have time to do the same.”
During this game Busser had multiple nice passes up the sideline to senior captain and forward Kara Williamson which generated a few shots and good scoring opportunities for the team.
Senior captain and defenseman Katie Dooren shared her own opinion on how the game against Poolesville went, and how they were able to come back for their next game against Wootton.
“We did not play to our best abilities and it was a hard loss,” Dooren said, “But we came back strong for our next game.”
Field hockey is looking forward to their next game against Paint Branch at 7:00 p.m. on our home turf tonight. Paint Branch also has a 3-3 record and are coming off of a tough 5-1 loss against Blake.
