After senior Sam Grande’s hit, the Wildcats got back into the game and ran bases to come back from being down 3-0. Although they didn’t gain a lead until the fifth inning, their momentum changed.

Pitcher Jay Wandell bats for the Wildcats. Wandell’s hit opened up the game and gave the Wildcats momentum to win.

Wildcats pitcher, Leo Simpson pitched for the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings in which he managed to strike out three opposing players.

Wildcats catcher sophomore Vance Bonior received a pitch to his head when batting but managed to run bases which then lead to the first lead of the game. “I just feel like you should run first and not delay the game in anyway and I’m happy to help out the team,” Bonior said.

After five innings, the Wildcats celebrate gaining a lead against Blake High School. The final score was 6-3, Wildcats winning.
