Led by senior captains Stella Weiss and Natalie Zaid and junior captain Alexa Steinberg, the poms team is looking forward to the start of the competition season. With the Seneca Valley Invitationals slated for Jan. 14, 2023, the reigning county champs look to continue their dominance into the new season.
“I would say that having fans there makes our performance a lot better because we hear the cheers which help us get through the dance when we get tired. It’s nice to see our school support us during our competition season since they are so supportive of us during football season,” senior Rita Bousadi said.
Often confused with cheer, the Poms dance team wants their respect, as they attempt to reclaim last year’s glory. They have their eyes firmly set on counties, which is slated for Feb. 4, 2023.
“What our team really wants is for people to come to counties! We love all the support at the football games and would appreciate some love at our competitions, especially counties! Winning last year was so amazing and I hope this year more people are there to support the team!” Steinberg said.
