6 Things You Didn’t Know About James Lillie and the Golf Team

Senior James Lillie, along with sophomore Evan Shapiro, qualified for the state championship tournament, where Lillie shot an 81 and finished tied for 47th place. Lillie hopes to play golf for McDaniel College next year.
1. How were you interesting in the game of golf?

When I was a lot younger I got really mad ‘cause I was playing bad and I threw my golf ball across the green and it ended up hitting my mom in the knee. That got me grounded for a little bit.

2. What is something most people don’t know about you?

Whenever I’m listening to music by myself I sing…really loud.
3. What don’t people know about the game of golf?

When he’s not chastising staff writers, senior Parker Smith enjoys being sports editor of the print publication of The Pitch. Smith joined The Pitch in his junior year as the layout editor, after impressing the former editor with his inventive combination of serif and sans-serif fonts. Although his main focus is on layout, Smith shares the column Fielder’s Choice with his assistant editor. In a female-heavy editorial staff, Smith represents the male sector of The Pitch and boasts a remarkable amount of facial hair. In addition to journalism, Smith is captain of the hockey and lacrosse teams.
