As a 6-year-old, I was impatiently waiting in the back of my parents car for us to reach our destination, constantly asking “Are we there yet? Are we there yet?” to my parents every five seconds. Now I’m a 16-year-old impatiently waiting in the back of a classroom for summer break while constantly asking myself “Are we there yet? Are we there yet?” every single day.
It’s funny how some things never change.
“Ever heard the saying “So close….. Yet so far”?
Well that perfectly describes this situation.
Summer is literally only a couple days away. No homework, no tests, no essays, no lab reports are only in a couple days. Soon we’ll have freedom from obligations assigned from teachers and depending on what people might be doing the summer. There’s no more getting up early to go to school but for now we’re stuck here. It’s hard to do everything we’re supposed to be doing while we know other schools in other counties are out and instead of sitting in a boring classroom we could be on the beach or anywhere else but here.
For now we have to study for the last few tests. For now we have to make up any missing assignments. For now we have to make sure we’re arriving on time to class and as much as I hate to say it, we have to be arriving to school at 7:45 a.m. every day and we have to patient because summer time will come.
Good Luck, Wildcats! May summer bring the rest we all deserve!
