Superintendent proposes $3.61 billion budget

The FY26 proposal is $300 million, 9% more than this year’s budget

MCPS Superintendent Dr. Thomas Taylor unveiled his proposed budget for the Fiscal Year 2026 on Wednesday, Dec. 18. Taylor’s budget calls for a total of $3.61 billion in spending – an increase of nearly 9% or 300 million dollars over this year’s budget. This is the largest increase since the FY2006 budget, which was a 14% increase over the FY2005 budget, increasing from $1.714 billion to $1.851 billion.
