Another year, another success. Another year, another stacked lineup. WJ Glo 2016 once again brought out the wild side of Walter Johnson students last weekend for a good cause. #Ravetosave, the hashtag that quickly spread around the WJ communities online, accurately described the crazy night on the eve of the Super Bowl. The mission was to bring in as much money as possible to donate to the Leukemia and Lymphoma societies and try and cure these two devastating blood cancers.
The lineup featured four WJ up-and-coming student DJ’s performing for 45 minutes each. Dava, Foxden, Sound Scape and Bodxilla each performed to the delight of the student population.
The WJ Leadership class put together the entire night, as they have done in the past.
Senior Leadership member Jackson Miller believed the entire night was a success.
“It was a great event as always and the people you could tell were having fun,” Miller said.
The event is a huge boost for the school and Leadership program. It is the biggest event, and brings in the most money out of any of the other events that the Leadership class puts on in February.
Many WJ students thought that it was a good time to have the event at the beginning of Pennies 4 Patients because it attracted people to get involved, and want to come back for other events like Family Feud and WJ Thrift. In addition to that, students said they loved the atmosphere; describing it as vibrant and energetic with students having a good time and enjoying the music.
