Many dishes from Southeastern Asia were on offer. Once the event began, long lines of students came to try the food. “It’s a celebration, including a lot of fun activities, and it resembles a lot of factors to both Hinduism and a lot of other cultures that are present in India.” freshman Arpita Vijay said.

Samosas, served at the event, are a traditional Indian dish, often served with herb based chutney or a sweeter chutney. “We made a lot of food and we had a activity outside that people seemed to love,” Vijay said.

During the celebration, students had the chance to receive henna tattoos. Henna is a natural dye that holds positive symbolism, used for body art and hair coloring. The henna art was done by two students, junior Meher Parsinni and sophomore Aman Kalsi.
