Before arriving, students ate lunch at the Union Market, a food plaza located across the street from Gallaudet. Many servers sign ASL, and the market is a popular destination for Gallaudet students.

Graduation banners hang in an old gymnasium. Each graduating class follows the Gallaudet tradition of decorating a banner and hanging it in their gym, known as the “Old Jim.”
