Girls Lacrosse start playoffs season against B-CC

D1 commit Mila Pekar chases after the B-CC goalie, Ella Morton in hope to get the ball back in WJ control. After the loss, WJ girls went to support B-CC in their game against Whitman which ended with a close score of 11-10 for B-CC.

Sophomore Natalya Krouse fights to catch the ball while B-CC defense is pressuring her. Krouse has been varsity since she was a Freshman, “It’s hard saying bye to the seniors because over the past two seasons we’ve all gotten so close and it will be difficult to be on the field without them. But I know we will work hard and do our best to make the most out of it” Krouse said.

Senior defender Eve Forburger strips the ball from the B-CC attacker and proceeds to transition the ball down the field. Forburger’s consistently flawless play earned her recognition on the All-Division Second team.

Senior Maddie Poersch scores as the B-CC defense is attempting to get the ball. Poersch has been on the team all four years of high school joined varsity sophomore year. “I’ve always loved this team because we are able to be competitive on the field and still enjoy hanging out with each other off the field.” Poersch said.

The players on the sidelines attentively watch their teammates play and ready to step onto the field if needed. During the regular season, WJ played and defeated B-CC with a tight score of 11-6.

Senior Mila Pekar’s last fist bumping of the season with her coach after being called out by the announcer. The Wildcats have a tradition of making two lines before a game and every player announced passes through all sticks in the air.
