Snowboarder Shaun White, “The Flying Tomato,” unleashes his new trick known as the Double McTwist 1260. The trick, which White pioneered, involves two flips and three and a half rotations and earned White an unbelievable score of 46.8 points out of a possible 50. This is White’s second gold medal, following his win in the Torino Olympic Games of 2006.
Alpine skier Lindsey Vonn celebrates after her win in the women’s downhill ski comptition. Vonn, who has been nursing a recent injury to her right shin, finished just .56 seconds faster than silver medalist and fellow U.S. Olympic team member Julia Mancuso.

Men’s figure skater Evan Lysacek won over arch-rival Russian Evgeni Plushenko to secure the gold with a score of 257.67, despite coming in second to Plushenko in the short program.
Bode Miller skis to a first-place finish in the Men’s Super Combined race. Miller has also won a silver medal in the Men’s Super-G race, and a bronze medal in the men’s downhill race.
