Pong for Pennies for Patients was an absolute success this year. Ninety-three teams raised around a thousand dollars for P4P, and everyone had a lot of fun.
“It’s really cool seeing everyone in their different costumes,” freshman Maddie Terry said. “It’s a lot of fun, very spirited.”
There were seniors enjoying their final PPP including senior and leadership student Dillon Jobes.
“My first year, I was only one of two freshman, and I lost in the first round, but I still had a lot of fun.” Jobes said.
The winners of the PPP contest were seniors Avery Bernstein and Peter Cleaves who dressed as themselves.
“Right now, words cannot describe how I feel,” Bernstein said. “Pong is 55% mental, the rest is luck. The goal of pong is for me to be in the other person’s brain.”
Bernstein and Cleaves took home a trophy with a pong ball and red solo cups and went to Five Guys where everyone else went after PPP. The profit from the night went to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
