By law, any convicted sexual offender must register in the state he or she resides in. In the state of Maryland, there are four categories offenders are registered under: child sexual offenders, offenders, sexually violent offenders and sexually violent predators.

- Fourth Degree Sex Offense (Victim under the Age of 18)
- Solicitation of an Individual under the Age of 18 to Engage in Sexual Conduct
- Child Pornography
- Any of the Prostitution and Related Crimes Under Title 11, Subtitle 3 of the Criminal Law Article if the Intended Prostitute or Victim is under the Age of 18
- Any Crime that Involves Conduct that by its Nature is a Sexual Offense Against an Individual under the age of 18
- Any Attempt to Commit a Crime on this List
