Like Facebook’s April 2012 takeover of Instagram, Twitter, Inc. bought a video-sharing app called Vine. Vine creates media in the form of .gif files and looped videos, which are often featured on other social media sites.
Once the app is downloaded on iPhone or iPod Touch, users can sign in using their Twitter accounts and begin “Vine-ing.”
Sophomore Dani Otarola expresses that Vines are hilarious because they open up the door for creativity depending on the user.
“They can be short clips of people doing random things and goofing off,” says Otarola.
When first making a Vine, the app will walk the user through each step to make their high-definition looped video.
