Video of the Week: Harlem Shake (PPP Edition)

Over the past few weeks, people around the world have created videos of themselves dancing to the electronica song “Harlem Shake” by Baauer. Similar to the 2012 hit “Gangnam Style,” the Harlem Shake has taken the web by storm.

WJ created its own version as a part of the annual (Water) Pong for Patients (PPP) event, which benefits Pennies for Patients, a non-profit organization that battles childhood Leukemia and Lymphoma. The video features senior SGA Vice President Ty Glover, in addition to many other students decked out in their PPP costumes.

Jazz quartet reaches for the high notes
Pep Band plays a song at a home fall football game. "I think pep band is for people that want to go to football games a lot and maybe don't have people to go. It's a place to have fun with a lot of friends," pep band captain senior Theo Hansen said.
Putting the pep in WJ's step: pep band rallies "juice," builds community
Opening night's narrators, juniors Yuri Sternberg and Sasha Rotton, turn to watch as a wave of confetti is dropped onto the stage. The performance was unusually colorful, complementing its chaotic nature. "I’m really proud of the cast and the way we were able to come together and work towards putting on the show,” Rotton said.

This is senior Megan Chun’s third year on The Pitch staff, and her second consecutive year as the Online Editor-in-Chief. She is excited to continue her work on The Pitch Online with the new group of online editors. Megan’s activities (besides procrastinating and editing online blurbs) include Irish dancing, drinking smoothies, color-coding her closet, taking naps and watching cop dramas. Megan is eager to work with co-editors Emily and Claudia, in addition to the rest of the great 2013-2014 Pitch staff.
