These are a collection of reviews of WJ’s One Acts Plays – four short plays directed and enacted by students. The plays were performed Thurday, Jan. 7, Friday, Jan. 8, and Saturday, Jan. 9.
The play “Nate and Rita,” written and directed by seniors Adam Moskowitz and Thalia Patrinos, is a laugh-out-loud story of Nate, a suspicious husband (junior Charlie McKenna), and Rita (senior Anastasia Silva/sophomore Maya Bowman), Nate’s wife of six months and their trip to a marriage counselor, Dr. Dick (senior Isaac Buckley/ junior Marina Khananayev), who is secretly “involved” with Rita.
This play stole the night, with superb performances by all actors and an ingeniously written script. The dialogue and interaction among characters was unmatched, and McKenna stole the show with his portrayal of the character Nate.
The performance stood out as the best of the night, as far as acting, writing and directing.
