These are a collection of revews of WJ’s One Acts Plays – four short plays directed and enacted by students. The plays were performed Thursday, Jan. 7, Friday, Jan. 8, and Saturday, Jan. 9.
The play “All For Love” was written by G.L. Horton and directed by Melanie Holmes and Steven Maghenheim. It is a comical tale about Maxie (sophomore Abby Adler) and her niece Barb (sophomore Madison Chase] who go through great lengths to help their friend Bertha (sophomore Julia Cinquegrani) unite with Tristan (senior Faisal Mahmood), her lover.
This romantic story was filled with a mixture of love and humor, make-out sessions and witty jokes.
The acting, costumes and props were very believable, and provided a realistic environment that the audience could envision. The actors portrayed their characters effectively, however it was important to pay close attention to everything said in the beginning in order to prevent confusion later on.
Although entertaining to watch, the plot was a bit difficulty to follow and at first seemed utterly confusing. However, as the play progressed, things began to click together and make more sense, until the play finally winded down to an aprupt, yet comical ending.
